Curd Cake

This is a Latvian recipe for a soft dairy cake with dark raisins.

Preparation time-5 min

Cooking time- 40 min


  • Bowl
  • Fork
  • Cake tin


  • 500g of Curd
  • 3tbs of Semolina
  • 1tsp of Baking Powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup of Milk
  • 4tbs of White Sugar (or more)
  • A handful of Dark Raisins


  1. Preheat the oven for 190C
  2. In a bowl add the 500g of curd and press it down with a fork
  3. Add 3tbs semolina, 1 tsp baking powder and sugar to your taste
  4. Slightly whisk the 2 eggs and add them to the bowl
  5. Add 1/4 cups of milk and a handful of raisins (more or less)
  6. Stir all of the ingredients together and check if the curd mixture is sweet enough
  7. Add the curd mixture into the cake tin and even out the top
  8. Place the cake in the oven for about 40 min. The cake top should be golden brown.
